This will be my last DOTS Italy report. After a couple of slow days I have some good stuff to post:
Skoda wagon, I know nothing about these other than I am sure I have never seen on before.
already posted this the Ferrari thread, but in case you missed it—Lancia Delta
We got the Fortwo, Europe got this little roadster, again never have seen one before, looks like a lot of fun built simi lar to the Japanese Kei car specs.
Some old putz driving a Ferrari
Bella Italia, we just went for a drive on the back roads through the mountains coming back from Maranello and kept coming up on things like this. If you can make it happen I strongly recommend the trip.

I was just in Bagni di Lucca a couple months ago. This bridge is gorgeous and I pulled over in the same spot to take photos. Did you go inside the walls of Lucca? My family left Lucca for Northern California in the 1890s so I had to make it a stop on our Italy/France trip.

Awesome stuff! Fun fact, the Smart Fortwo was sold in Japan with a 660cc engine specifically so it would meet Kei Car regulations....one of the few (if only?) foreign cars to ever sell in the segment!

I have never heard of any other foreign (to Japan) car being but to kei car specs so possibly true. The little thing kind of reminded me of a Honda Beat so I just threw the comment out there. Love all the tiny little overachievers here, especially the older ones.

Not possibly, it was a truth! :D

Thanks for all the nice comments, I am wasting time waiting for my flight out now, wish I could have gotten more pictures. There were quite a few 70s Fiats I remembered from when I was growing up in the states, 124s and 128s such, great fun.

Definitely a trip I really want to do someday! Think they’d let me bring an Ape, 500 or 126 back in my carryon? :P

Definitely do if you can, though I posted mostly about cars, the scenery, history, food, etc. are all good too, and actually not too expensive once you get there.
